The Emerald Cup was played at the Overland Park Soccer Complex March 23-25 and featured over 200 teams from nine states. Three Kansas City United Teams competed.
In the U14 Gold Division the Kansas City United Magia, coached by Jose Velasquez, and the Kansas City United Galaxy, coached by Jim Schwab, closed out their respective divisions with identical 3-0 records. The two then met in the Final, with the Magia team winning 2-1. This is the second year in a row these two teams have closed out a final in the top division of a tournament at the Overland Park Soccer Complex.
Joining them was the U12 Kansas City United Rangers, coached by Jimmy Perez. The Rangers also played in the highest Division in their age group, but lost two close games to finish with a 1-2 record.
