logoThe Kansas City United Girls traveled to Nebraska at the end of May with the Midwest Regional League title to the First Division of the Midwest Regional League on the line.

Tied in the league standings with Gretna (who they played in Regional last year), the winner would be promoted to the MRL Premier Division.  The Rangers also had to meet the always strong Toro Club team during the trip.

Gretna scored first, but the Rangers came back to score the last two goals winning 2-1. The Rangers, drained from the first game, tied Toro the next day 0-0, finishing the League with a 6-1-1 record and 19 points, six points ahead of the second place team, which finished at 4-3-1.

With the MRL First Division Championship, the Rangers earned promotion to the Premier Division, which hosts the top eight to 10 teams in Region II. With a good showing in the Premier Division and a team can earn promotion to the US Youth National League, open to the top ten teams in the nation and a possible berth into the US Youth National Championships.  The U14 Rangers become the second team from the Club to qualify for the Premier Division of the MRL.
