Two Kansas City United teams dominated their age groups to win Kansas State Cup.
The U14 Kansas City Rangers girls, coached by Doug Miller and Chris Arcuri, secured back-to-back Kansas State Cup Champions! The team went 5-0-0 in Championship Series with 11 goals for and zero goals against. The Rangers won nine Championships this year, including State Cup.
The Kansas City United Metros U18 girls, coached this year by Rich Wolf and Alex Aiman, capped off the year with a 4-1 domination of KCFC. Like the Rangers the Metros were seeded first in their age group. The Metros not only won Kansas Youth State Cup, they also won the Kansas Adult Women’s Cup and will be going to the Adult Region II Championships in Fort Wayne, Indiana June 14-17. They will then go to the Youth Region II Championships in Saginaw, Michigan, June 22-27. The Metros are capping off a season that saw them make their successful debut in the US Youth National League and win six different tournaments.
The U17 Kansas City United boys, coached by Emilio John, and the U14 Kansas City United Magia boys, coached by Jose Velasquez, both came up one goal shy of advancing to the State Cup Finals, falling in their semi-final matches.
The U14 Kansas City Brass Navy won the Kansas President’s Cup and will advance to the Region II President’s Cup tournament held at the Overland Park Soccer Complex, June 14-17.
