The Midwest Regional League (MRL) Web Page describes the MRL in the following way:
The MIDWEST REGIONAL LEAGUE (MRL) mission is to provide the highest standard of competitive play for youth teams in US Youth Soccer Region II (the Midwest Region) and to assure the continued growth and development of elite level players.
Very simply we are here for the BEST TEAMS…BEST PLAYERS…BEST COMPETITION.
All of us associated with the MRL strive to provide the absolute best high-level competitive environment for our teams.  We are here to serve the elite US Youth Soccer affiliated teams and are cognizant of the choices that these teams have in participating in events, tournaments and leagues in order to showcase their players.  The MRL offers the absolute best league competition in our area as teams vie for the chance to earn spots into the Midwest Regionals as part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.

This fall five teams from Kansas City United will be competing in the MRL.
The U18 Kansas City United Metros Girls will compete in the Premier Division, the highest level of competition in the League.   Coached by Rich Wolf, the Metros will square off against Teams ranked in the top twenty in the nation, including National Champions NSA Fury out of Chicago.   Other teams in the U18 Premier Division include:

  • Chicago Fire Juniors U18 Red 11 – Illinois
  • Michigan Jaguars U18 Girls Green – Michigan
  • Toro Bravo – Nebraska
  • Lou Fusz SC Premier-Paulsen – Missouri
  • Kolping St Louis-Schmitt – Missouri
  • Canton Celtic 94 Black – Michigan
  • FCX North Black – Illinois

Joining the Metros this fall in the MRL will be the U16 Kansas City United Santa Fe (Rangers) Girls, coached by Dalio Mercado; the U15 Kansas City United Rangers Girls, coached by Adam Blinzler; the U14 Kansas City United Rangers Girls, Coached by Doug Miller; and, the U14 Kansas City United Academy, coached by Wayne Francis.
