Two Kansas City United teams competed in the traditional kickoff tournament in the Midwest, the Border Battle held at the Overland Park Soccer Complex.  Playing in wind chills in the single digits, the conditions tried all teams, but our U13 girls and boys kept their focus and won through to the Finals.  The KC United teams faced opponents from Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Kansas in the early spring contest.

The U13 Kansas City United Rangers girls, coached by Doug Miller went 3-0, notching 10 goals and allowing only one, in winning their Bracket, before falling in the finals to the Blitz National team from Oklahoma.

The U13 Kansas City United Galaxy boys, coached by Jim Schwab, also went undefeated in winning their bracket.  In the finals they lost to Panathinaikos United Knights out of St. Louis 1-0.
